Problem "#1.QNANOOO..."

Postby dgtendale » Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:41 am

Greeting,
I brought another problem, again.
I run "two species" model in program PRESENCE. Their data coded 0 and 1 (absence/presence).
I run the data using all "phi/delta", "psiBa/rBa", and "nu/rho" co-occurrence parameterization options. The Program runs well with all options and detection combinations when I put data of species A first followed by species B.
But I flipped the species order and run the same models. It went okay until I run "phi/delta" parameterization with the predefined detection matrix (species specific, constant detection.
The black window, which compute the estimates, run none stop. The window that I snapshoot now has >>4670 50000 #1.QNANOOO...I tried to run it with PRESENCE 3.0 and 3.1. Both gave me the same problem.
What do you think I did wrong?

First, you can stop the computations in the black window by clicking in the window and holding the ctrl key and pressing c (ctrl-c).

The phi/delta parameterization will sometimes have this problem, due to the way the parameters are related. The other parameterizations are much more reliable and I suggest you use one of them unless you really need to model phi or delta as a function of covariates. Otherwise, phi and delta can be computed from the output of the other parameterizations.
