MARK installation

Postby mcallen » Thu Aug 11, 2011 9:26 am

Are there any tricks to installing MARK in Windows Vista? I am having what seem to be permission issues (i.e., can't open mrk---.tmp) when I try to run models. See link below.

I've used the default installation methods. Is there a specific folder that it needs to go in that might be different from my default location - "Program Files (x86)"?
Thanks, Mike

mcallen,
Look under FAQ 10, second comment. Although it is listed for Vista, that might be why the mark temp file can't be found.

Thanks, ba.
I was already "running as an admistrator" (i.e., the box was already checked). But that's the exact problem I've been having ("cannot find mrkxxx.tmp").

Any other ideas? Much appreciated.

I figured it out if anyone is interested:

I created another user account profile (administrator) in Vista, and that solved everything. Now it can run models with no problems, as long as I am signed in under that profile.

I originally did this at the suggestion of ESRI tech-support to fix a problem with ArcGIS and it had the added bonus of fixing MARK too! The only pain is that all of my files are on the other profile, so I had to move them to the "public" folder.
