formatting robust design occupancy data

Postby dtempel » Fri Apr 01, 2011 6:35 pm

Hi everyone. I'm interested in running some multi-season, robust design occupancy analyses with both site- and survey-specific covariates for detection probability. The site-specific covariate would vary by year as well (i.e. reproductive status of individuals at site).

I wasn't sure whether the covariates should be included in the input file, or whether this should be done in the design matrix. For the survey-specific covariates, I guess I could copy and paste from an Excel sheet into the design matrix, right?

Thanks!

For occupancy analysis in MARK, site-specific covariates should be entered in the input file. If the survey-specific covariates are the same for all sites, those values could be entered into the design matrix. If they are different for the sites, then they would also have to be entered in the input file.
