Multiseason Model Evaluation

Postby lbmcnew » Mon Jan 17, 2011 5:07 pm

I understand that goodness of fit tests for multiseason models have not been developed (yet). However, I was wondering if anyone had tried other techniques for model evaluation? I recently came across a thesis (Hansen 2009) that used a k-fold cross validation approach similar to those used for resource selection functions (Boyce et al. 2002) to evaluate model predictability. However, Hansen did not thoroughly explain the adaptation and I'm wondering whether this is appropriate for evaluating original parameterizations of the multiseason model. Has anyone else applied it?

Thank you, lance
