I just installed MARK 4.2 on my computer, but a message appeared saying "unable to register component C:\windows\system32\lfpcd13n.dll". I pressed ok and it seems to be working ok, but I do not know if and in what way this could affect its use in future.
Probably no worries. But, to be sure...installing a new version of MARK involves the following steps:
1. uninstall the old version, using the formal Windows uninstall facility. In so doing, you'll get some spurious error messages. Something about being able to register graphdtc.ocx. Just hit the OK button and let MARK uninstall instelf.
2. install new MARK version. If you followed step (1), you *may* get another error message about not being able to register some of the graphics libraries, or you *may not*. Either way, don't worry. Problems with graphics library registration don't influence MARK's running correctly.
But, the key is - completely uninstall MARK first (as is mentioned in several places - check the FAQ, for example). The .DLL that is failing to register in your case is not one I've seen before, so my suiggestion is - start over: uninstall MARK, delete the c:\Program Files\MARK subdirectories by hand (not necessary, but if you want to be thorough), the install new MARK.
