Tweak the robust design

Postby nwhitmore » Mon Oct 25, 2010 8:59 pm

Hi there,

My question concerns a mark-resight monitoring translocation study. Outwardly this resembles a classic robust design methodology, however, the encounter histories don’t begin with a closed capture session rather they begin with a single release followed later by seasonal closed capture sessions. We are interested in using the robust design because we are interested in population growth through time as well as survival. MARK won’t let me start with a non zero time interval – is there a legitimate way around this or do I have to start with a dummy closed capture session with 100% detection?

Cheers

Hi Nathan,

It's not clear to me what data type you have. Are you wishing to use the robust design closed captures model, the Barker robust design model, or the (robust design) Poisson log-normal mark-resight model?

Hi Brett,

Thanks for your reply. I was wondering if I could do the analysis using in a robust design closed capture framework.

Cheers,
