Survival Estimates Across Sites

Postby cootney » Fri Nov 20, 2009 3:16 pm

I completed duckling survival analyses in the nest survival module (ragged telemetry) and my best supported model included a site effect (9 sites). I would like to obtain an overall estimate of survival with SE, but am unsure how to average the survival estimates across these sites.

I could use the model without the site variation to obtain an overall estimate, but I'm including marker effects and will be rerunning the model using user-specified covariates to obtain survival estimates of ducklings with different markers and there is significant heterogeneity in proportion of ducklings marked per site. So I'm worried if I use a model without site effects, this may not incorporate that heterogeneity. And now I've just confused myself...any thoughts? Thanks.
