importing design matrices

Postby marshd » Tue Jun 16, 2009 4:24 pm

I have a existing set of models that I want to apply to a new set of encounter histories. Is there a way to import my existing model set into a new MARK project (i.e. with the new datafile)? Or alternatively, to change the datafile within an existing project? I'm trying to avoid having to start over and re-enter a fairly large set of design matrices.

Thanks,

You can as long as the situation for the new data are the same -- same number of occasions, same group structure etc. Create your new project with the new data and then use Retrieve on the menu and select File model and select .dbf that contains the models that you want to copy over.

If you change number of encounter occasions (eg add a new year of data etc) or number or order of groups then you are out of luck because the PIMs will change. That was the reason I created RMark because I work with a number of monitoring data sets that we add to each year and each year I had to start from scratch. With RMark that is no longer a problem.
