Occupancy study design

Postby mspinola » Tue Mar 03, 2009 10:19 am

Dear list members,

I am designing a study to assess medium sized-mammals (multiple target species) occupancy trough camera traps in several forest fragments. I want to examine the influence of some landscape variables on mammal occupancy.
Fragments differ in size, so I have doubt on how to layout the sites in order to estimate occupancy in different fragments. My concern is that in a small fragment may be I can only set up five cameras and compromise the occupancy estimation for that fragment.
Also, is there any reference for the spatial dependency option that appears in the later version of PRESENCE?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best,
