program RELEASE GOF testing

Postby pstevens » Tue Feb 10, 2009 1:34 pm

I have attempted to run the program RELEASE GOF test from the Tests menu in MARK a number of times now and the output for Test 3 seems to be omitted. I have tried this testing in both the "POPAN" and the "Recaptures only" data type. I have read through Ch. 5 of the Gentle Intro. as well but to no avail. Is this a problem with my data structure or I have not set the correct toggle somewhere?

If by chance you had dots in the encounter histories, RELEASE will not do the GOF test.

Gary,
Thanks for the response. I did check on that and there are no dots included. I simply used a MARK-style input file with the basic PROC statement as specified in Gentle Intro.
Does the program RELEASE GOF tests only work with certain data types? I ran the same set as both "Recaptures Only" and "POPAN" and couldn't get a TEST 3 output. Also, this data set has very few multiple re-captures. Could that be part of the problem?

The Gentle Intro says the test will only run with the "Recaptures" data type but I also got it to successfully run with POPAN output. Also, this data set has very few multiple re-captures. Could that be part of the problem?
