Missing encounters problem

Hello,
I have simple closed capture data that include missing encounter histories. I have coded the missing encounters as ".", however, I am getting the error message- "ERROR- Encounter history must consist of only these characters: '10' Exit code......" This happened to me in the past and I was able to run the data after reloading Program MARK. I have now reloaded several times and cannot run my new or old data.
Any help is appreciated.
