standard error

Postby throop » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:04 pm

In occupancy modeling, the standard error is given for the real estimate of occupancy. How should one interpret this standard error if it encompasses numbers below the proportion known to be occupied? For instance, occupancy of sites is known to at least be 35%, but the predicted occupancy is 38% with standard error= 0.4.

Thanks for any help.
