questions concerning analysis/theory using program PRESENCE

ssPsi0 and ssPsi1

What are these parameters?

I am running some data in PRESENCE to get some numbers MARK doesn't automatically provide, but in the custom model option, the design matrix pops up with default parameters under the psi tab of psi, and ssPsi0 and ssPsi1. I can find no mention of these parameters anywhere in any documentatin or on the web.

thanks for your help

What type of analysis are you trying to run?

It's a basic single season, single species analysis. I contacted Jim Hines and apparently ssPsi0 and ssPsi1 have something to do with a new spatial correlation model which I'm sure you are aware of. However, these parameters showed up even under the standard custom model, when they should have just showed up when the custom w/spatial correlation button was pushed, so apparently it was a bug. I just need to install the most recent version of PRESENCE.

Hi,

I might have missed it but I could not find any information about the type of model that is implemented in PRESENCE under the 'custom w/ spatial correlation' option. Could anyone point me to the relevant sources?

Thanks!

The model that uses these parameters (ssPsi0,ssPsi1) is a single-season model with spatial correlation. Sorry for the 'tease', but a paper is in the works and will hopefully be published soon. I'll post a reference for it here as soon as it's published.
