One of the the assumptions with the CJS model is that marking is instantaneous (short period) followed by a time interval (in my case a year) where mortality occurs. I have a 20 year dataset where mortality overlaps the marking period. More specifically, fish were captured annually during the spring spawning run (2 month period) but most of the mortality occurs in this time period from Pelican predation. Is this going to be a problem with my analysis, if so, is there a remedy?
Thanks,
Pete
