deleting first capture ???

Dear all

I though that I once found an email in this forum about deleting the first capture of all animals in a data set to handle heterogeneity, but I cannot find it anymore. Deleting the first capture is also an option in U CARE. I wonder if anybody could name the references where the theory behind this is explained.
