estimating c-hat when using the nest survival module

I have a question about calculating c-hat when using the nest survival module. The GOF test does not work for that module as far as I can tell, so is the deviance/df the only way to go? That seems a bit conservative and ends up selecting models with the fewest number of parameters when the chat is higher. Am I missing something?
