I'm trying to build some stochastic population models of ducks and would like to draw the adult and nest survival parameters from random beta distributions.
I've calculated the mean survival rates using the Burnham and nest survival models respectively but am wondering how to get the variances from the associated standard errors given in Mark. Can anyone tell me how to identify the n-values used to calculate the standard errors? Are these simply the number of individuals in the raw data or is it more complicated than this?
