Estimates are on the boundary?

Postby A.Spinnett » Wed Apr 27, 2016 2:38 am

Hi there,

I am trying to run a MSORD model on some whale tourism data. I have 8 primary periods (years) within which are 10 secondary periods (2 weeks) and I have encounter histories for ~760 individuals. I am setting up the models according to chapter 15 (Set So=Su, set all other unobservable parameters to 1 then fixed them to 0, used Mlogit1 for all secondary periods in primary period 1, Mlogit2 for all secondary periods within primary period 2 etc) but am getting a lot of real parameter estimates of 1 or 0 with a lot 0s for my SEs.

I was wondering:
1.) whether my dataset is too small to run this model

2.) whether this indicates error in the way I have run my model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am really lost! :?
