questions concerning analysis/theory using program MARK

setting time intervals

Postby valentinacumbo » Mon Sep 16, 2013 9:05 am

I'm just a beginner trying to use mark for his own data on pond turtle (capture-recapture in two years study, collecting data only from may to october). I'm following steps from mark-book but I still don't get how to set time intervals in my case: every time I try to end my analysis (population size), a window appears to tell me that 0 is the value for time 0 and then(I choose a week as time unit and my first value in 33 encounter occasions is an half of a week, so 0,5), like an error, it closes the program. Maybe I make some banal error so I think that receiving help from someone who already use mark is an advantage that it has to be very useful. thank you for any answer.

Try replacing the comma in "0,5" with a decimal point "0.5". I think you meant to say 'every time I try to [import my data] a window appears ..."?

I've made plenty of these sorts of oversights in my quantitative past! Good to know the problem was simple, best of luck moving forward ...
