True vs Apparent Survival in a Multi-state Robust Design

We have been trapping foxes for the past 3 years. We have a robust design with 3 primary sessions (years: 2007, 2008, 2009) and 4 secondary occasions (days) within each year. I am running a multi-state robust design where age (pup, non-pup) are the states.

Are the S's given in the output apparent or true survival?

Since I am using ages as states, the gamma_prime and gamma_double_prime parameters are not present in the PIMs. Are the Observable and Unobservable states still being used? If not, how is temporary emigration being estimated?

Are the S's given in the output apparent or true survival?

Unless you have dead recoveries (which involves a different data type), or other very specific sampling constraints, the estimates are apparent survival.
