MCMC estimation of derived parameters in Huggins model

Postby Krishna Pacifici » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:35 pm

Hi,
I am using a Huggins full heterogeneity model and used the MCMC estimation option. My question, and I apologize if I am just missing this, is does the MCMC estimation results text file report the estimates for the derived parameter N. I wasn't able to find the derived parameter listed anywhere on the text file and I wasn't sure if I just missed it. Or is it accessible from the .bin file in R or SAS?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Krishna

MCMC estimation of derived parameters in Huggins model

Krishna:
You have to compute the derived parameter N your self in R or SAS from each of the evaluations of the posterior.
Maybe some day when I revise the MCMC code, I'll get the derived paameters included in the output. But, at this point, it is not difficult to compute the derived parameters yourself.
