new versions of M-SURGE and U-CARE

The biometry group in Montpellierare happy to announce M-SURGE 1.7.1 and U-CARE 2.2.2.

M-SURGE and U-CARE are both available for download at:

New major features in M-SURGE 1.7.1 since M-SURGE 1.4.2:

1) M-SURGE 1.7.1 is faster than M-SURGE 1.4.2 due to improved optimisation algorithms (by a factor of up to four).

2) M-SURGE 1.7.1 features several new diagnostic tools for detecting redundant parameters such as an improved drawing of profile deviance.

3) Unequal time intervals are implemented for survival.

New major features in U-CARE 2.2.2 since U-CARE 2.0.2:

1) Specific test components for multistate have been added to detect trap-dependence and transients.

2) The new version can handle absorbing states (such as the recovery of dead animals).
