Model weights

Postby Hoy » Wed Sep 11, 2013 12:01 pm

Hi,

I notice when I export the model list to an excel file there is an empty column labled AICcWeight.
Is there a way in ESURGE to calculate the model weights rather than doing it in another program such as R?

I had a look in the handbook and couldn't see anything about it, but thought that as it comes up in the exported model list it might be possible.

Thanks

Sarah

Hello Sarah,
I chose to not incorporate the AICweight in E-SURGE because
I think that there is more disadvantages than advantages of get AICweight too easily.
According to the book of Burhnam and Anderson, AICweights must be compute from
a pre-determine list of models. Clearly, this is not this approach that is in general done
in softwares like M/E-SURGE or Mark or any. So it is my feeling that a blind calculus of
AICweigth is not good.
Sincerely,
Rémi
