I have a dataset of animals that were marked in 1993. They have been resighted in most years, but no new animals were marked since 1993 (1 marking occasion and 13 resighting occasions because a few years were skipped). I would like to compare survival among males and females, and animals marked with two different types of marks (4 groups). I ran GOF tests in U-Care and of course get no results for tests 3.Sm and 3.SR. I understand why that is. One of the groups shows significant trap dependence (test 2.Ct).
Is only having 1 marking occasion a problem? Will M-Surge or E-Surge work with this dataset? If not, do you have any suggestions?

Hello Ginger,
What you call '1 marking occasion dataset' is called an only one cohort dataset. I think that M or E -Surge will be able to handle your probem
because there is recapture each year.
