Mark freezes when trying to open Help

Hi, I installed MARK, last version.
It freezes when trying to open help, either from the main menu or from any window.
I installed it in an Asus Zenbook S3, 32Gb Ram, Intel7. Windows 11.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, and the same.

Any clue?

Many thanks

By default it is writing the help file to a directory where you don't have write access. Open up a .dbf in a location where you have access. One way is to copy the examples to your desktop and open one there. Then help should work.

Hi Jeff, copied examples folder to Desktop and the same... actually, the dbf file I opened was in the Download folder

I downloaded from phi.dot local page and had same issue. You can get around the problem by opening the program files (x86)/Mark folder in Windows Explorer and double-clicking 'MarkHelp.chm'.

I then downloaded from Gary's page and it worked OK. I noticed the filesize was different from the two sites (21,131 on local phi.dot page, 21,139 on Gary's page).

So, if you don't want to go to Explorer to get the help page, download from Gary's site until Evan re-copies the setup file.

I just re-mirrored it from Gary's machine. Thanks for alerting me, Jim.
