Just a note for MARK users without Administrator rights on their Windows machines (USGS folks, e.g.):
The example files that ship with MARK are located under C:\Program Files\MARK\Examples in the default installation. Since you have to install the program as an Administrator, this folder may be inaccessible to MARK for read-write when you're in a non-Admin account. (The Program Files directory is probably restricted generally, which causes all sorts of other annoyances too.) As a result of this, the latest MARK release will throw a cryptic error and fail if you try to open the files (DBF) from that examples folder.
You have a couple of options:
1. Move the files elsewhere
2. Get Admin rights (even temporarily for running MARK with the examples)
3. Have an Admin person open the C:\Program Files\MARK folder to complete control from your user account
I chose #3.
I don't recall having this problem with MARK 5.x, so perhaps Gary changed something about the process for opening DBF files.
