, it took another pair of eyes to figure it out. If you are getting this warning (and MARK closes with more errors after that), it may be that your file name contains (a) dot(s). My filename was e.g. mark.gjn.2011-12-27_17-26.mean.weight.yes and caused an error. Removing dots solved the problem.
