Simulations -summary stats-

Postby claudiapenaloza » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:51 pm

I know we are supposed to pull the simulation .DBF file into another package (SAS, Excel, R, etc.) to calculate summary stats on the simulation results... but if you are viewing your simulation results in MARK and you click on the little calculator that says "Calculate Summary Statistics", MARK produces a temporary text file with a summary of (what exactly?)...

I tried this recently but its "wonky". Below is a snipit of what MARK produces but it is incorrect; I had the first two parameters fixed at "0" and "1".
My question is what is MARK calculating here?

Statistical Summary of Numerical Variables
(Number of Observations = 500)

95% Confidence Interval
Variable Mean Standard Dev. Standard Error Lower Upper
---------- --------------- -------------- -------------- --------------- ---------------
REAL1 0.000 0.0000 0.0000 0.000 0.000
REAL2 0.546 0.4984 0.0223 0.502 0.590
REAL3 0.524 0.4785 0.0214 0.482 0.566
REAL4 0.523 0.4779 0.0214 0.481 0.565

Obviously, this is not essential information, I'm just curious.
Thanks, cp
