A new addition to the MARK book has just been put online - courtesy of Jay Rotella (Montana State University). Jay has provided some documentation for handling nest survival analysis in MARK. The new chapter (chapter 14) is in late draft stage, but a version has been made available for your use.
Several things of note:
1. the chapter is still draft, so there are likely to be several changes (hopefully small) over the next few weeks. And, as a draft document, don't assume that everything is 100% correct (although we think its pretty close).
2. we're releasing this draft since a number of folks have been waiting for some nest survival documentation, and the more eyes that look at the draft, the more likely we are to find small bugs - simply post them on the forum
3. the chapter makes considerable use of a Mallard nest example, which is included in the datafiles.zip archive.
4. if you download the draft Chapter 14, you'll notice a significant shift in the formatting paradigm. You might guess (correctly) that this signifies a larger retrofit to the formatting of the entire book. Your guess would be correct - stay tuned...
