New RMark update v1.7.0

Postby jlaake » Sat Nov 10, 2007 2:37 pm

I posted a new verion of RMark to phidot which contains mostly cosmetic changes. However it does contain an example data set and script that Jay Rotella created with the mallard nest data for the nest survival model. It is a nice example that provides a general tutorial for RMark scripts as well as for the nest survival model. Jay has said that when he gets time that he'll provide an additional script that shows how to construct delta method variances of various estimates derived from the MARK output.

This is an example of the kind of script/data that I'm hoping folks will contribute to the package as examples for others to use as a learning tool. I'll be glad to work with anyone on a contribution they would like to make.

On another note, I highly encourage all users of RMark to sign up for email notification from this list server. It does not generate much email traffic and it assures you that you'll hear about important updates. For example, R changes versions 2-4 times a year and when it does there is always the possiblity that a conflict could occur. For example, R2.6.0 versions require v1.6.9 or higher for RMark. Whenever, you download a new vresion check out the Whatsnew.pdf posted on the website. All changes are documented for each version with the newest changes on the top of the document. If you are a new user it is worth browsing the complete file because it contains information that has not yet been transferred to the documentation.
