Assessing model fit of single-season analysis

Postby colson » Fri Jun 25, 2010 12:28 pm

Is the Assess Model Fit Option appropriate if there is missing P/A data (i.e. some sites were not sampled in every encounter survey), while running a single season-1 species analysis?

Based on the MacKenzie and Bailey 2004 paper it seems that an extra summation step is required for missing data, and I am curious if Presence takes this into account when assessing GOF.

If not, any recommendations?

PRESENCE accounts for missing presence/absence data by grouping similar detection histories such that each pattern of missing values in the histories is treated as a separate cohort. You'll see the cohort number in parenthesis in the GOF output.
