sampling covariates in single season occupancy models

Postby vincenzo gervasi » Sun May 04, 2008 5:45 am

Dear all,
I am using single season occupancy models to evaluate the relationship between some spatial variables and the detection probability of a genetic sampling on brown bears. Most of the variables I am using are sampling covariates, i.e. their values change over sessions. I would like to receive some clarification on what process is used in PRESENCE to treat sampling covariates. In particular, is any analysis of variance components involved in the estimation of beta values, or what other mechanism leads to the estimation of a single beta value for time-varying covariates?

Thank You,
Vincenzo.
