Input file problems with GOF Testing

Postby EmmaRigby » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:34 am

Hello,

I've posted this on the U-CARE forum too, but the traffic on there appears a bit slow so I thought I'd try on here too as more people might read it!

I'm trying to feed a multistate encounter history for MARK into U-CARE to do GOF testing but when I verify the file it tells me that there is an error on line 1. I've tried numerous ways of setting out the file and have looked at .inp files supplied with MARK that work fine in U-CARE but can't work out where I'm going wrong. My file looks like:

0AA0000000 1 1 0 ;
0A00000000 1 0 1 ;
0A00000000 1 0 1 ;
0A00000000 1 0 1 ;

where the first column indicates it is an individual covariate, the second is sex and the third is age. There is 1 space infront of the covariate column and 2 infront of the other 2 columns and the semicolon. I've also imported the file into word and looked at formatting to see if anything looks a bit unusual but it seems fine.

I presume it's something very simpe I've overlooked so if anyone can offer any advice I'd be very grateful!

Correct presumption. See p. 41 in Chapter 8 of the MARK book, first full paragraph.
