Tagging and recapture done separately, what next?

Postby claudiapenaloza » Wed Sep 24, 2008 12:46 pm

This is an amazon turtle study. There are 16 years of tagging (hatchlings for reintroduction), but only 6 years (non-consecutive) of recaptures (turtles in the river).
How do I build the encounter history if there are years where recapture probability is zero?

Thank you,

I've learned how since I posted this... so might as well put the info out there.

- You can add dots "." to the years/occasions in the encounter history when you didn't "look" for your animals
- You can fix p = 0 for the years/occasions in the encounter history when you didn't "look" for your animals (which is the same as adding "." because MARK interprets a dot as p=0 for that occasion)

I think that covers it,
