Data formatting for removals in INP file

Postby dtempel » Tue Mar 22, 2016 11:31 am

I looked at chapter 2 of the MARK guide, which covers data formatting for removal of individuals at some point during a study. In the example on pages 2-4 and 2-5, there are 23 and 25 individuals from each group that are removed after the 4th sampling occasion. Are those 23 and 25 individuals part of the 1500 and 1678 individuals in the previous line, or are they completely separate?

In other words, were there 1500 individuals in the first group with the history 100100, and another 23 individuals with the history 100100 that were removed after the 4th occasion, for a total of 1523 individuals in the first group? Or were there 1500 individuals with the history 100100, of which 23 were removed after the 4th occasion, so there were a total of 1500 individuals in the first group?

The former - 1,500 and 1,678 individuals recaptured and re-leased alive, on the fourth occasion, in addition to 23 and 25 individuals that were recaptured, but removed, on the fourth occasion.

I (just) modified the text in Chapter 2 to make this clear.
