Using the Delta method with MARK

Postby Jalgeo » Wed Apr 22, 2015 5:27 pm

Hey, I am a dissertation student using MARK to calculate the abundance of a population of civets and then calculate their density. I am then comparing the subsequent density estimate to another technique (Random Encounter Model).

I have posted before and was told that the closed capture models would not work properly with my data due to a low number of recaptures. However due to time I just have to go with it.

Anyway, I have both density estimates (REM=1.17; CMR=3.50) and I would liketo compare the accuracy of the two, I used bootstrapping for the REM however I am having difficulties in just getting started using the Delta method to get the SD and confidence limits of the CMR (which is what is advised in the litrature)

My problem is basically - I cannot find the data for the variance of the abundance estimate. I have looked in the manual section of MARK, however this has not helped my problem.

Is this due to my unadequate data or am I missing something obvious?
Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
