Trap-dependency in a multi-state model

Postby anacjesus » Thu Apr 09, 2015 8:24 am

Hi,

I have a dataset of 800 animals, 28 years of encounter history, 2 states (north and south of an island).

I run the multi-state model, adjusted c-hat (calculated from U-CARE test 3G and M) to 10.298 and now I want to run the models accounting for trap-dependency.

First of all, I find my c-hat too high...what does it mean? Is my data too sparse? (I have lots of animals who were only seen once...)

Second, I was reading through Chapter 6 of Mark book and I seam to understand how to add a variable in the DM, but I have too many parameters I got confused... Did anyone here ever worked with multistate models with trap dependency?

Cheers
