POPAN GOF testing

Postby hilit » Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:37 am

Hello,

In my study, i need to use POPAN to estimate population size.
I have 5 occasions and 18 groups. The release tests 2 and 3 come out highly significant. Is there another way to test GOF for my data?
Thanks,
HIlit

RELEASE is only testing the survival and capture processes for POPAN, not the entry process. Given that, if you believe small sample size is the problem you could run the median c-hat test using the Recaptures Only module.

Small sample size

Postby hilit » Sun Nov 01, 2009 6:47 am

What is a small sample size?
I did put my data in CJS, but the result for C hat was unclear (something with all simulations failed and for c=1.5, which is the maximal value i put observed c hat = 12.364.
I don't know even how to interpret this.
Thanks,
Hilit
