C-hat and removed individuals

Postby Lahoreau » Mon Dec 08, 2003 2:55 pm

Dear colleagues
I am using the MARK bootstrap procedure to estimate c-hat (deviance of my global model divided by the mean of 100 simulated deviances).
My data comprises individuals which are removed at particular times from the sample and which MARK stipulates "will be excluded from the bootstrap simulations as if they never existed."
For one species among my study populations, this concerns 11% of total individuals. I'm getting some odd results re c-hat values (c-hat=0.5), and wanted to quickly doublecheck whether the bootstrap procedures holds at figures as high as 11%.

Any advice welcome
