nest survival-DM time trends

Postby amusante » Sat Nov 12, 2005 1:18 pm

I have seen nest survival examples for setting up a reduced Design matrix for both linear and quadratic time trends for a single group. How would the reduced DMs and PIMs look for multiple groups (multi-year study)? How would the DMs appear for additive effects of say 4 seperate years, each year plus linear time and each year plus quadratic time?

Also how would the DM and PIM be set up in a multi-group or year study for effects of nest age or nest date? Lets say in a 4 year study of 100 day nesting seasons looking at effect of nest date. Would the PIM appear 1-99 for each of the 4 years with the DM having only 99 rows with an intercept and one column for date effect? Thanks in advance for any responses.
