about model of quadratic temporal variation

Postby Ray » Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:55 am

Hi, everybody!
So happy the forum reopen again. Recently I got another problem in the nest survival model, I have successed built the model incorporating a linear temporal variation (Date),but as I bulit the model incorporating a quadratic temporal variation (Date2), just as the way told in the" Introductory User's Guide to MARK"Chapter 17 page 14, add a new column and filled with value“power(col2,2)". It is wrong when running it , result is "ERRor, use of COLxx no longer valid with recursive desige function calling." And it still doesn't work as divided the values in column2 by 10 to avoid convergence problems. This also happen in the nest age model. Hope someone could help me~
Thank you~

I had the same problem, but there's a work around. The answer is in chapter 11, page 23. Basically the Colxx procedure was buggy so they decided to get rid of it. Chapter 11, section 11.4 goes through some work arounds (mainly in excel) to reference other column values. Hope this helps.
