MSCRD models and estimating survivorship

Postby Miguel » Wed Jun 09, 2010 7:02 pm

My understanding is that the robust model is explicitly set up for cases with only two states, the observed state and an unobserved state (temporary emigrants).

The MSCRD example (MS_rdsimple.inp) in the Gentle Introduction’s (15.7.1, p.550) also only includes two states. Does this mean MSCRD, like the Robust models, is limited to two survivorship parameters, observed and unobserved?

I have four states (three habitats plus unobserved) that I would like to estimate separate survivorships (among other parameters) for each of the three habitats?

Your comments are greatly appreciated,
Miguel

You are correct about the RD model. However, the MSCRD model is generic, and can be set up for any number of states (just like the MS model).
