Error code 21

Postby SandraChristine » Fri Mar 19, 2010 3:20 pm

Hi,
Lately I've been seeing error code 21 when I try to create a new file in MARK. The pop up windows say "could not create the results database" and then "Error code: 21; Subsystem: flexfile; Error subcode: 2035". I've included the data below -6 occasions- (it is set up for a Barker (both) model, with live recaptures, dead recoveries and resightings).I would appreciate any insight into what I'm doing wrong. Thanks, Christine.

1. what version of Windows?

2. are you running as administrator?

3. what version of MARK?

4. do you get this error with your data only, sample data, both? What about other data types?

1. Windows XP
2. Yes
3. I was running an older version of MARK, but I've just updated it and am getting the same error messages
4. I have run other data successfully. I'm only having difficulty with this one dataset

meaning...what? What do you mean by 'create a new file'? I just took your data, read it in, ran a few Barker models. No problems.

1. I open MARK
2. I select File: "New"
3. I select "Both(Barker)", enter a name for the data, select the appropriate file name, and set the time intervals to 6, then Click ok
4. I get the error messages

I just renamed the input file and now it is working properly. Does MARK not 'like' file names with decimals in them?

Correct. Underscores are fine, but not decimals.
