I have a known-fate data set with 98 encounter histories, each has 11 occasions, 5 covariates and the whole thing is organized as just 1 group. In known-fate modeling, how does Mark calculate the number of parameters? I coded sex as 0, 1. The model where survival is explained by time and sex has 6 parameters. Shouldn't there be 11 parameters, 11 for the 11 observation periods plus 1 for sex ?
