c-hat: problems with encounter histories

Postby SandraChristine » Tue Nov 03, 2009 8:22 pm

Hi,
I am looking for some guidance on a mark-recapture experiment I am trying to analyze. I have 14 occasions, (of which only 2 involved marking new individuals), 5 sites, and both live recaptures and dead recoveries. The information I am interested in is survival rate and site fidelity. I thought to analyze this with a Barker model, but am running into difficulties trying to determine c-hat. Both the bootstrapping and median c-hat approaches give me warning messages stating "Problem with the encounter history x Incorrect length", for all of the encounter histories in my input file. These messages do not appear when I run the models themselves. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, Christine.
