Encounter History for Young Survival

Postby EricM » Thu Jun 11, 2009 2:10 pm

Is an encounter history for Young Survival from Marked Adults the same as recaptures only? I read the paper Estimating Survival Probabilities of Unmarked Dependent Young When Detection is Imperfect (Lukacs et al. 2004) and it appears that they used this model for this study. I opened the "young.inp" file and the encounter histories look different than a recaptures only encounter.

I am certain that this model will be perfect for the brood survival portion of my woodcock study and would like to include some environmental variables, which sounds like is possible using this model.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks -- Eric

The Lukacs et al. model is not in MARK. The Young Survival from Marked Adults model is something different that is not actually working.

Thanks Gary. I guess a CJS model will do.
