POPAN Question

Postby nanlaien » Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:46 am

I am using MARK to calculate the overall N for a project that I am working. Its a very simple data set, with 4 occasions, and no groups. I am just trying to get an overall population size as one of my metrics. To do this I have been using POPAN to calculate the N. However, if I go back and run the same data set again, I am getting a different model and thus a slightly different N, as the top model. Why does this seem to be happening? I am betting I'm missing something simple.

Thanks

Hi, in order to be able to help you, I would like to learn more about your sampling design and the capture histories matrix. Did you read or try the examples provided in the Mark Book? Are you using the Parm specific function? Also, a capture of the output would be useful.
