Multistate Live-Dead Recovery Encounter Histories

Postby lbmcnew » Mon Nov 06, 2006 2:18 pm

I have a dataset of known-fate telemetry locations for juvenile beavers. I am interested in obtaining state-specific survival estimates as well as transition probabilities from 'non-dispersing' to 'dispersing' condition. I was considering the Multi-strata Live-Encounter Dead Recovery model to get at these parameters (since a Multi-state Known-Fate model is yet to be developed). However, I can not seem to find any examples of encounter history input files in the literature or the gentle introduction. As I interpret it, a simple multistate EH for a 7-occasion EH would look like: NNN0DD0, and a L-D Recovery EH would be: 10101000101011. How do I combine the 2 to appease MARK. Would an EH of N0N0N000D0D0D1 be correct for this animal?

Thanks in advance,
Lance
