Using acoustics to determine occupancy

Postby saschra87 » Fri Jan 15, 2016 4:33 pm

Hello,

I am very new to the MARK program and occupancy estimation and modeling. I am trying to get some direction in the project I am working on and after not having much luck searching literature etc,... I decided to come here.

I am using bioacoustics to determine occupancy of an area. This is going to be using a one seasons of data. My study site that is split into 5 different habitat types. I have determined my 4 a priori species, and two more that I would like to have for a separate analysis ( a priori + 2 other species). I have up to 70 sampling efforts (depending on habitat type) and environmental factors I am wishing to add to the model (lunar illumination, temperature, and wind speed).

I guess my question is what is my "Data Type"? I do not see single single, multispecies option. From what I have read ( http://people.oregonstate.edu/~peterjam/occupancy_workshop/hands_on.html ) it isn't an option period. Is there something similar that I can use? Also if it helps, I am assuming the population is closed.

Thanks in advance,
-S
